We can’t say no to food especially when it’s a pizza, burger or any other type of junk food. We just seem to forget about our health when there’s something like that in front of us. Well, if you want to maintain that figure and fit into your old jeans or prevent that shirt button from popping out, you have to make some necessary changes in your diet. The New Year calls for a New Start, here are 5 changes you should make in your diet this New Year.
1. Eat more of home food:
Food that is cooked at home is always healthy as we take care of the ingredients that we add and it’s also cooked in a safe & hygienic environment.
2. Eat more fruits and veggies:
Eating a lot of fruits and vegetables has many benefits which include protection from cancer, heart disease and effects of aging. Having just one fruit or vegetable with each meal is enough. By eating fruits and vegetables can also help you reduce considerable amount of weight as it contains very less calories.
3. Choose the gifts of nature:
Choosing natural foods instead of processed foods prevents you from ingesting man-made chemicals which are toxic and can cause cancer. Studies suggest that natural foods have higher levels of nutrients and antioxidants.
4. Snack Smart:
Don’t be on a See- food diet. If you see food, don’t go and eat it. Think twice before having whatever snacks are at your disposable. Choose your snacks smartly, that means you should include snacks like a whole fruit, a granola bar or a small yoghurt. These foods contain high amounts of antioxidants, fiber and calcium content.
5. Limit the consumption of sugar:
Cakes, chocolates, cookies, candies, your mouth is watering jut by reading this but if you want to keep fitting into those pants then you need to just close your eyes and say no when there’s something sweet in front of you. Sugar has an addictive factor and over consumption of sugar can cause your blood pressure to take a great hike, it also leads to dull and wrinkled skin.
Now that your diet is taken care of, focus on what makes you happy and make the most out of 2016.
