When you are suffering from Arthritis, it hurts even get out of your bed. It hurts so much that, after a few attempts you’re tempted to stay put. But arthritis exercises are exactly what you need. Physical activity, in fact, is the best “medicine” for arthritis pain relief, doctors say.
Chair Stand:
Sit on a normal sized chair. Stand up and stop before you are about to sit down, just above the sitting surface. Focus on controlling your motion by using your hands to your benefit and hold for five seconds. Try doing this 10- 15 times.
Hand stretch:
Open your fists as wide as you can, and the make a fist of it. Repeat this motion. You can do this exercise, with your hands under water, or use a sponge ball. It is good for fingers.
Leg Swing :
Using a support, stand on one leg and swing the opposite leg gently in circles out to the other side. Try doing 20 circles in each direction. Switch legs. As you progress, you will become flexible, so keep increasing the size of the circles.
Arm Circles:
Place your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold arms out to the sides with palms down and at shoulder height. Perform 20 circles in each direction, gently.
Hip Circles:
Place your feet comfortably apart and your hands on your hip. Slowly move your hip in circles, keeping your torso as straight as possible. Do clockwise movement for 30 seconds and then anti-clockwise.
